![]() ![]() My wife and I both independently of each other concluded the the Iberian ham at Jaleo was better but this ham was still pretty good. We got two cured meats and a goat cheese. It was a beautiful day and the breeze was nice. I was not really happy with our seats, right by the door to the outdoor dining, tiny table, and right by the server's station but we did not say anything. It was 90+% full and only got busier as the night when on (we left about 7:00). I was expecting the person answering to say, "OK, no problem" because who, except for the over 70 crowd eats at 5:00, but the person made a note and I could see why when we got there. I got reservations for us at 5:00 PM and when we were running a little late due to making sure our kids' dinner was ready before we left, I almost didn't call to let them know we were running 15 minutes late but I did. Very very disappointing.įirst, make sure you have reservations. ![]() I was so mad that we left without ordering more. Be mindful that a tapa is a small bite, you will need more than 2 tapas per person. Price was fore 3 tapas, a white sangria and a glass of wine $50. There are plenty of awesome restaurants near Reston Town Center, and I can cook better croquetas that that in the blink of an eye. Here is the question: am I going back? NO. I couldn't taste the presumed white wine, either. I had the white sangria, and it was sweet. Her response was quite rude, but she removed the money from the bill (4 croquetas, $6.50, BTW). Why? and I know paprika and that was red pepper powder, not smoked paprika. She said, "well, we put Spicy paprika on top'". As they were made, it was just a ball of flavorless dough, with a lot of red pepper powder sprinkled on top. Well, I can't eat them, or taste the flavor of the presumed manchego and Jamon Serrano they're made. When I told one of the managers that they were too spicy for me too eat, she replied: They are not spicy. Why didn't I like the croquetas last night? Well, they were TOO SPICY. I know how to make them, different flavors, different ingredients and always a great staple of my kitchen. Who doesn't like croquetas? As a Spaniard myself, I am a croquetas connoisseur. ![]() We had 4 tapas last night: dates wrapped in bacon with Roquefort sauce (the only one that I really liked it), Gambas al Ajillo (garlic shrimp), meatballs and croquetas. I have been visiting this place a few times. ![]()
